The Traders
Lyon’s three-piece The Traders reignited the French punk scene in 2023 with raw spirit and back-in-your-face energy. Their sound is muscular garage-punk. Blitzing riffs, guttural vocals, and unapologetic attitude straight from DIY late-night rehearsals.

Bio
The Traders formed in Lyon in 2010, originally emerging from local hardcore and punk crews. Early praise followed their debut album Too Young So Old (2013), a potent mix of abrasive energy and angular songwriting reminiscent of early Sainte‑Catherines and Glass & Ashes. After years of inactivity, spurred by pandemic life and side projects, they returned in 2023 with the explosive single “Grandiose,” announcing a full-length album and a new chapter.
That single, recorded in a single take, embraces rawness and urgency, lyrically addressing themes of self-esteem, stubbornness, and the blurry line between confidence and ego. Having toured extensively across Europe, the UK, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Canada between 2010 and 2015, they’ve now hit the road again with the same DIY ethos, packing in vans, emailing promoters, and living punk on their own terms.
“French raging punk rockers THE TRADERS are back with a vengeance… an explosive punk anthem that’ll make your ears beg for more.” – Idioteq
“The raw, yelling vocals, the melodic guitar, even the tone harkens back to late‑2000s French-speaking punk. And it rules.” – Dying Scene,
